The Gold Coast’s Radolescent are back with the first taste of their forthcoming album, in the form of a catchy end-of-shift plea for salvation, titled ‘406’.
Recorded at Queensland’s Blind Boy Studios and produced by Mark Duckworth and Brad Hoskings, then mixed and mastered by Dan Walker at Submarine Studios in New York, ‘406’ is a song about the struggle and internal conflicts faced by many teenagers unsure of who they are, what they want in life and how to achieve it.
The track’s namesake is the 406 bus route, one that vocalist and guitarist, Isaac Atkinson, frequented in his teen years, that also inspired reflection on his own internal struggles at the time.
“The song eludes to the problems of not knowing what, where or who I wanted to be,” Isaac explains. “Stemming from the pressures by family to make major life decisions, then followed by peer pressure from friends to join in on questionable activities. As many teenagers are, I was confused and had no resolution in sight.”
